Important...

We have recently been informed that the Oasis Guitar Humidifier will not work in some guitar cases. If you have a "flat top" case, there is not enough clearance above the strings for the cap of the Oasis Humidifier. All "arch top" cases, that we are aware of, have sufficient clearance for the cap.

A Suggestion from a Customer:

I recently bought the Oasis humidifier and hygrometer for my new Seagull guitar and TRIC case. The Oasis is too tall for the case and it will not close. I noticed this issue mentioned on your website.

I was going to return the Oasis, but I found a simple solution for installing it - a rubber band. It's pretty secure- you can shake the guitar forcefully, and the Oasis will wobble, but not fall out or hit the insides. It doesn't take any longer than the normal install, nor is it more difficult, once you learn how to not drop the rubber band!

The Oasis and hygrometer are working great! Love your products, and I hope this info is helpful.

Thanks,
Chris Decker, Brooklyn, NY

Please Read Before Filling Oasis

Handling your new Oasis® guitar humidifier is simple, but it is not foolproof. Based on feedback we have received, here are some problems that can be easily avoided:

Don't dump out the crystals

When you initially get your humidifier, shake it. You will hear something rattling around inside. The rattling sound comes from the dry Humigel™ crystals, a dry, water-absorbent polymer. Curiosity gets the best of some users. Hearing the rattling sound, they unscrew the top and turn it upside down and the crystals fall out.

Hold the yellow, not the Blue

Always hold Oasis® by the yellow top or yellow bottom. Underneath the yellow tape is hard plastic which supports the structure. The blue middle section is where the water vapor escapes. This is a soft squeezable fabric. If you squeeze the center, Oasis will behave like a toothpaste tube.

Fill Oasis slowly

Oasis typically holds slightly over 1 ounce of water. When initially filling Oasis®, the crystals need a few minutes to absorb the water. Don't try to put 5 ounces of water in a 1 ounce humidifier. Don't try to put the 5 ounces of water in the humidifier in 2 seconds. What happens? The crystals are washed out with the extra 4 ounces of water. If you use tap water, use a very small flow and watch carefully and stop filling when the water reaches the top. Even after the initial filling; you can wash out the hydrated crystals with too much water.

In some situations, Humigel™ crystals may stick near the opening of the tube. This could impede your ability to refill the device. First thing is to bring the humidifier back to its original shape. This is done by gently holding the two yellow ends and pulling them away from each other. Secondly, holding the bottom yellow end gently tap Oasis® on a hard service. This will knock the crystals lose to fall back towards the center of the humidifier. Then, proceed with refilling.

Recovery

If you have had misfortune with any of the above, do not lose hope. Replacement crystals and reloading instructions are available to resolve the problem and get your Oasis® guitar humidifier operating again.
